Give to UTC

Becky Nasadowski

Lecturer, Graphic Design

MFA, The University of Texas at Austin, 2015
Becky Nasadowski was born and raised in the Midwest, earning her BFA in graphic design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her MFA in the multidisciplinary design program at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining UTC’s Art Department in the fall of 2018, Becky worked in the Studio at the UTC Library, taught Design at UT-Austin, and has maintained a professional design practice since 2007.
My current creative research takes a critical, multi-disciplinary approach to the practice of “Design for Good,” contextualizing the field within discussions of race, sex, and class privilege. I am invested in an educational practice that reaches beyond the traditional design canon, and look outside of the discipline to explore how antiracism and feminist praxis can and should inform the way we teach visual culture and design.
