Lambert has had recent screenings at the Bomb Factory, London, and the European Media Art Festival in Osnabrück, Germany, and has shown her work at The Drawing Center, Eyebeam, and SculptureCenter in NYC. Her work has received support from institutions such as the Banff Center, and Carnegie Mellon University’s Studio for Creative Inquiry.
Notions of territory, and the relationships that humans have with their environments, are central to my practice. My current video series, Solastalgia Cycle, centers around the embodied and subjective experience of climate crisis. The series combines the personal and intimate with references ranging from nature documentaries to survivalist subcultures. The structure of these videos is informed by traditions of experimental video, performance for video, and the cinematic essay, and by ongoing research into the representation of nature in popular media, and in theoretical research and discourse.
