4 Year Check Sheet

The 3D concentration is intended to bring students in touch with traditional and contemporary trends in the discipline. It supports the notion that students will eventually be able to define the nature of their own studio research within a contemporary arena, and be able to defend that work conceptually as well as formally. The curriculum is designed to provide the major with an introduction to traditional methods and processes, primarily in the areas of wood, metals, and clay. Beyond the lower-division introductory study of these methods, the student enters the upper-division with intermediate and advanced study of clay, producing both functional vessel forms as well as sculptural forms.
