The foundation sequence is a required program of study for all students majoring in art, and are designed to provide a uniform exposure to fundamental art/design skills and techniques essential to work in various fine art media. Additionally, the foundations sequence is designed to reveal the potential for systemic processes and approaches to form generation through “staged” practice. Most generally, the foundation serves as a platform for objective analysis, common vocabulary, and critique skills uniform to all studio production.
